On-the-job training
Eligible veterans and transitioning service members have the opportunity to participate in paid on-the-job training with one of our Partner Employers, while their new employer can earn reimbursement through Home Base Wichita.
Who is Eligible for OJT?
- Veterans—regardless of length of service or condition of discharge
- Transitioning Military
- National Guard/Reservists
- Student Veterans
Additionally, eligible candidates must be:
- Able to work full-time
- Unemployed, OR
- Underemployed
- Employed part-time—20 hours or less/week
- Earning $15.40/hour or less
Financial Assistance
Home Base Wichita can provide funding for Licensing, Certification, Registration, and exam fees to prepare for your next career.
Who is eligible?
- Veterans
- Previously served on active duty, Guard, or Reserve for any length of time, at any point in the past
- Transitioning Service Members
- Currently serving in the military w/in 18 months of a defined future service end date
- National Guard/Reserve
- Currently serving in the National Guard or Reserve of any branch
Approved exams include, but are not limited to:
- CDL – Commercial Driver’s License
- CNC – Computer Numerical Control
- A&P – Airframe & Powerplant
- Oral, Practical, and Written Test Only (Does not include the training program at WSU)
- CAD – Computer Aided Design
- Notary – Certified KS Notary
- LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse
